A few months ago....actually, more like a year ago, I started receiving phone calls on my cell phone from some random little old lady. Seriously, she would call me about every other week, ask to speak to someone who was NOT me, then immediately say "I'm sorry sugar, I've got the wrong number." Then she'd hang up on me. After this happened about about 10 times, I would recognize her number when she'd call, and I wouldn't answer. THEN she started leaving me hang-up voice messages. Don't you HATE that? I mean, my voice mail message is long enough that any normal person should have time to both hear my voice, recognize that I am not the one they want to talk to, and hang up all before a message starts recording, but somehow she was still managing to wait on the phone long enough for my phone to record two seconds of a voice message. Ugh.
A couple of weeks ago, Dustin and I were at home one night watching the television when all of a sudden my phone started to ring. I look down, and sure enough, it was the wrong-number-lady. I handed the phone to Dustin and told him to answer and tell her to STOP calling me. This is what I heard...
As it turns out, the lady is blind, so she's just sort of guessing when she dials the phone, so she calls me a lot because she can't tell when she accidentally dials the "2" in her sister's phone number twice. Also, she's old and lives by herself, so there's nobody there to help her when she needs to make a phone call.
Oops.
Since her conversation with Dustin, she has only called me one time. I did not speak to her.
In our defense, she didn't sound old....or blind. Next time someone calls me by accident, I'll be sure to ask them if they have any disabilities before I tell them they're not allowed to call me any more.
The end.

Hello?
(pause)
No, you've got the wrong number.
(pause)
Yeah, you've got the wrong number. Will you please remember not to call this number again?
(pause)
Well save it in your phone, then you won't make that same mistake.
(long pause)
Mmm hmm...
(pause)
Oh, okay.
(pause)
Oh....okay.
(pause)
Okay, well...um.... just try not to call this number again.
(pause)
Okay...uh...thanks. Bye.

WOW!!! Seriously laughing hysterically!!! I cant believe you hurt that poor old blind womans feelings! jk. That would make me feel horrible, aren't you glad you had Dustin talk to her for you? lol :)
Ha ha that is so sad! You couldn't have known, so don't feel bad... but still, poor old lady!
No doubt she won't call you "sugar" anymore, but something tells me she'll still be calling you. What a great story -- we've all got those and it helps a little to laugh together.
LOL that's awesome
I'm wondering...what does a blind woman sound like?
Ooppsss!
She didn't sound old or blind. LMAO!
LOL, you're so mean!! At least your little old crazy lady was just over the phone. A few years ago, hubby and I were renting a house from one of his coworkers. The house had belonged to his mother-in-law, who had passed away over a year ago. One morning, when I was home by myself, I opened the door to a flustered-looking old woman on the porch. She kept wanting to come inside to talk to her friend - the mother-in-law who had died! Ugh!!
